KM-1650 ADF problem

Have a KM-1650 and when you turn the machine on or put origanals in the feeder and push print button the drop down feed roller will kinda bounce up and down and make a chatter noice. Feeds most of the time but get ADF jams sometimes. What would cause the infeed roller to chatter like this.?? Also the feed in roller assy that drops down to feed origanal will stay down sometimes and will not pop up after feeding paper.

I just had that problem on one ( I have the bad one on my desk right here ).
It is the wrap sprng beside the feed tire, it is broken on one end, I took one off an old trashed df a it worked.
