Hi All,
I am running in an environment with a TaskAlfa 300ci on a 2003 32-bit server and a mix of x86 Windows XP and x64 Windows 7 clients using this printer as a network printer. This Print/fax has given us so many issues in the past three weeks alone, we're pulling our hair out.
It is running the most recent an proper KX driver, with KPDL Emulation on the server. What will happens is when users go to print, it freezes their adobe, workpad, excel, whatever and takes forever to print. Sometimes a full reboot of the printer has to take place, other times the print server has to be bounced. Our network is gigabit ethernet, so it's not a speed issue.
The other thing is that the Fax will sometimes send, and sometimes not (failing with a general network connection error, when the PC has full internet).
We have an opportunity to move to a 64-bit 2008 print server. Would this eliminate our issues, or will we still have bugs. We're so fed up with how bad this printer is, but still under contract. Any ideas?
