    KM 4530/5530

    dear all,

i need your comments about these models km4530/5530. yeah they are very old models (10yrs) and parts are hard to find but some old models work great than new models. i've read that km4035/5035 (falcon II series) and km4050 (falcon III series) are great machines but my supplier doesn't have much stocks of these but has plenty of km4530/5530.
does km4530/5530 belong to falcon I series?
what's the performance of these machines? my customers will use it for photocopying b/w copies only.
is it as solid as the falcon II and III series?
or perhaps i'll just wait for my supplier to have stocks of the falcon II and III series?

    MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

I worked on a few of these a number of years ago. They are not the same family/engine as the Falcon machines. I would expect if they are still supported by Kyocera that it won't be long before parts specific to that model are no longer going to be availalble.

The 4530 is just too old to support. Likewise, the Falcon II was recently discontinued parts. The only model I would consider supporting as listed in your post is the Falcon III (KM-3050/KM-4050/KM-5050).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Where did you see Falcon II stuff discontinued ? Last lists I saw only had Falcon I models. I'm sure it will be soon but not yet far as I've seen, but with that said would certainly only consider the Falcon III out of that list. If can find the 420i and 520i's be good ones as well and should have parts available for quite awhile.

thank you for all your replies.
yes we are asking our supplier for falcon II and preferably falcon III models but since their stocks are very low for these models right now maybe due to demand, they are offering very low prices for km4530/5530. i think i can still get a drum, fusing roller, developer, cleaning blade and toner for km4530/5530 at precisionroller.
i would like to ask for your feedback about the performance of km4530/5530. is it as solid as falcon II and falcon III models? it will be used by my customers as a photocopier only.
btw, what models belong to falcon I?

          best regards.

            Falcon 1 is 2530,3530,4030
            Falcon 2 is 3035,4035,5035
            Falcon 3 is 3050,4050,5050

These are mid volume machines, and by most standards the best b&w copiers ever made.

The 4530 sounds like it would be a Falcon but it's not. It's a high volume machine the predecessor to the 6030, 8030. It's apples and oranges man, it's a big, old POS.

Agree with BlackCat, also remember the 4530/5530 are dual component Dv and troner seperate. If you are looking for High volume why not the KM-6030/ 8030/ 620/ 820. The Falcon II and III for mid volume.
