Having a recurring jam41 on a Saturn. It's got about 700k pages on it. The funny thing is that it will work fine for 1k, sometimes 2k pages. Then they'll get 5 jams inside of 10 minutes. Mostly jam 41, some jam 51. The fuser press roller is screwed down, the JS has been replaced with one from a machine that works, and I believe that the exit assy has been replaced as well. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Re: CS 400 Jam 41
The J41 jams are most frequently caused by seizing bearings in the fuser, or perhaps a ripped heat belt. You can check both these things by removing the fixing pressure, then rolling the fuser through several times. You probably already know that individual parts are not sold for these fusers, but a common sized bearing can be changed by a persistent technician.
The J51 codes are a totally different story. I've come to the conclusion that the jam occurs in the rotary eject guide in the exit section. Endusers that do a lot of heavy fill will get toner buildup on the rotary eject guide. It doesn't take many prints for that toner to build up. On a CS-250ci Saturn I had tried swapping the exit assembly with another Saturn in the other end of the building. The result was better than I could have hoped for. I expected the J51's to stay, or follow the exit assembly. Neither happened. No more J51's on either machine. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
