[Misc] Kyocera 5551ci Error Handling not working

    Hi
We've a Kyocera 5551ci with a error handling problem. When I put a A4 220g paper in the multipurpose tray and don't specify the paper type in the copier settings and print a file with no special settings the toner isn't fixed completely (sure i know i have to specify the paper type because of the fuser).
When i specify the paper type (heavy) in the print job setting the copier shows an error because of the paper type mismatch (when i acknowledge the error it is printed out with the heavy paper type setting). The copier means A4 standard paper is in the tray but the print job wants the A4 heavy paper. So my goal is that the copier ignores the error and prints it out with the paper type as heavy that the toner is fixed completely.
Due to that I've set the "paper mismatch error" and "inserted paper mismatch" under the common setting to ignore, but the error still appears.

    Any idea?

    Kind regards

How about if you designate the MP tray (bypass) as having heavy paper?:

System Menu > [Common Settings], [Next] of Original / Paper Settings > [Next] of MP Tray Setting and then [Change]
of Paper Size > To detect the paper size automatically, press [Auto] and select Metric or Inch for Paper Size > Press [Change] of Media Type to select the media type and press [OK].

You must select the exact same tray and media type in the driver when printing.
This information can be found in your Operator's Guide pg 9-7 to 9-8. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We have different paper-types for the MP-tray. So we don't want to designate it to heavy...

Basically we want a print-job to ignore the paper type specified in the copier-settins.
Somehow the "paper mismatch error" and "inserted paper mismatch" setting "ignore" does not do the job...

Sorry. It won't ignore media type. That's just the way it works. =^..^=

Are you sure? The manual states this:

          Paper Mismatch Error
Set what to do when the selected paper size or type does not match paper size or type loaded
in the specified paper source while printing from the computer by specifying the cassette or
          multi-purpose tray.

          Value
Ignore: The setting is ignored and the job is printed.
Display Error: Message to cancel printing is displayed.

We have set the value to "Ignore". So according to the manual it should ignore it and print it with the computer-settings.

          Or where am I mistaken??

You are mistaken. Media type must match always. =^..^=

Even if it ignores the mismatch, the result is to print the job with the copier settings instead of the driver settings.

The driver settings will NOT change the copier settings.

I have not tried this, but go to system menu- common settings- error handling-paper mismatch error.

I have to disagree with that. In our case the printer driver DOES change the copier settings. So the paper type settings specified in the driver did overwrite the paper settings on the copier. But the copier showed a paper type mismatch.

After changing the the setting "System Menu->Printer->Paper Feed Mode" to Fixed. The paper mismatch is ignored and printed out with the settings specified in the print job.

Thanks for the info. Tested this morning and found that the driver settings will over ride the copier settings with "Paper Feed Mode" set to fixed, but I do still get the warning and have to press continue before my job prints. I've got a few customers to see and change settings for them.

Try changing the settings "System Menu->Common Setting->Error Handling" Inserted Paper Mismatch and Paper Mismatch Error to Ingnore.

When I set "Paper Mismatch" to "Ignore" , the print job printed without giving a mismatch error. I had MP tray set for "Plain" and sent the job as "Cardstock". It also printed as "Cardstock".
