    KM 3050 Screen response slowwww

We have a KM 3050 which we have a fax system in and the screen response particulary in send mode is still quite slow.

We have updated fax and machine firmware.
    Formated HD
Reseated Dimms in Control panel and Main Board.

Has anybody got any other tricks?

    Thanks

After doing the firmware update, you should do MM201 - touch panel initialization. Usually seems to help.

Are you updating to v. 2.06? At least I think that's the most recent. We get firmware updates at least once a month.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Also, there has been a change in the Dimms. They have upgraded them, supposedly due to too thin of a coating on the contacts, causing some problems in the some of the copiers. If I remember correctly, the visible difference between the old and the new versions is the color of the writing on them. (believe the new ones have white writing on them and old ones have yellow.. but it could be the other way around-- can't remember) New part #'s are ... Main Dimm- 2GR94201 Op. Panel Dimm- 2GR94181... Hope it helps. Good luck..

              Hi Guy's

              Thanks for the replys

We are currently using version 2.06 and we are still getting a slow response on FAX.

I will try and upload a small video of the problem.

Is there bulletin regarding change in Dimms, if so can somebody email it to me

              Thanks

I have not seen any bulletins about the Dimm change. ( goodness knows I've looked ).. I am only going by what Kyocera tech support has told me during one of our conversations while I was dealing with a locking-up problem on a cs-5050. Also, during a visit from our region rep., I asked him about the change and he said same thing that tech support said about the contact coating being too thin. I ended up getting my ass kicked religiously before replacing the Dimms. Since replacement, I haven't had customer call and I've stopped by when in area to check on copier/customer a couple of times with no problems. Has been just over 1 1/2 months now. On the other hand we've got a lot of copiers out there that still have the original Dimms in them with no problems as of yet. I know it ain't much help but it worked for me. Good luck..

I had this same problem with a 5050i. I upgraded to ver. 2.06 and tried it out and everything was working fine. The customer called back a week later and complained about the slow response again. Another tech went in and verified the problem and the ver #. He ended up re-installing ver 2.06 and the problem went away again. So far it's been two weeks and all is well. We're waiting to see if this works. If not, we will try replacing the dimms. Until you get them, you might want to try re-installing 2.06 again.

Do U201 adj. toutch panel that will fix the slow response also default the machine to fax. That way when they go to the machine it does not have to upload the addressbook. If they want to copy the machine is very quick to go from fax to copy. This has made alot of my customers very happy.

                          Thanks for the Post

I checked one of our machines yesterday and the memory on the Engine Board was 512mb DDR 400.

I am not sure if our machine was manufactured later or you are looking at another PWB in the machine.

Which PWB board are you referring to?

Also did this upgrade fix the response time on the fax and send functions.

The copy side response is fine.

                          Thanks
