    FS-3140+ with a C3100 error

this only happens when a book or notebook is copied from the glass with the feeder down. Plain sheet of paper on the glass is fine. You can apply pressure to the platen glass cover on the return scan the drive belt slips and the motor chatters, and it will code out. The only metal is the the rail the scanner rides on and it didnt looked bent, and the platen glass appeared to still be attached to the cover. Has anyone else seen this. I really dont want to order the scanner rail and platen glass/top cover assy.

Oh and I dont think QA B123 has anything to do with this as the code will clear

I'd start by cleaning the rails with alcohol, then lubricating the rail with straight weight 30W motor oil. If the glass is flexing and making contact with light source #1 ... well there's nothing you can really do about that but educate your endusers.

Back in the analog days the reference was 8 lbs maximum pressure on the glass. As a comparison, I can easily apply 50 lbs pressure with my little finger only.

Try it yourself. Get the bathroom scale, and see how much pressure you can apply with a single finger. If you can do a handstand you can apply half you body weight with a single hand. 8 lbs is the standard. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
