    KM-1118 scan to folder

    Hi guys,
I am new to the Kyocera.
I`ve set up scanning (to folder - smb)
Is there a way to bi-pass the entry of the username and password needed to scan?
It takes too long for the customer to scan... pushing 100 buttons!!!
They are still used to the gestetner that they had (mp161)
    Thanks!!!

Not on this model. We don't even tell customers that it scans to SMB or FTP, only scan to e-mail.

The only time I've seen it save a username and password is for network fax.

I thought there was some special firmware you could get that got around this particular issue?
Check with your local tech rep.

            Hi,

I do need this firmware too, but I can't find it anywhere.

Does anybody have this file? It would be great!

            Thanks.

When setting up the destination folder which has to be shared in order to scan to it, Properties, Security (right next to Sharing) under Group or User Names Add EVERYBODY and click Allow for for everything. This way you can type anything (as long as it's something) for username and password and you'll be able to scan. To get the Security tab in XP Home, start Windows in Safe Mode and it'll be there.
