    tray call mystery

    2 machines.. 3051ci and 6501i.. letter in Tray 1, ledger in tray 2 .. latest firm, l;atest KX driver ver 61413 ... from W7 or W8, from Word 2007 or 10, or Notepad...from numerous PCs... when sending a 11X17 print, the copier errors and asks for ledger to be put in Tray 1 (the 3051ci Default Paper Source) .. or tray 3 (the 6501i Default Source) can then choose the ledger tray, push Continue at the op panel for success... but of course it should find that itself.

    this is local printing, the driver Source is set for "Auto Source Selection"

    Its GOT to be something simple im too tired to see...

    U341 Printer Exclusive Cassette both set off

      What about media type? Is it set to Any in the driver? If it's set to Plain in the driver, and something else in the machine, you have to approve the tray each time. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          hours later, i find that the new (for the "01" series) setting within Command Center Function/Printer/Auto Cassette Change.. set to OFF (as they've Letterhead in tray4 and they never want it to tray switch when 3 runs out) is when the glitch occurs...

          someone out there want to try it? set it to OFF and then send a ledger print job to it...(any 01 series machine)

          its all programming these days!


          oh yeah...print drivers set to default Source: Auto Select and Media Type: Any (unspecified)

          only at the copier s is tray media type set to Letterhead..
