    400ci light prints

I have a 400ci that the prints are light. The toner motors are not turning when I jig the front door and run maint mode 132 with the door open.
Has any one seen this before?

    More info needed.

What did you do so far (besides checking the toner motors)? Does it happen on B/W and/or color? Copies or prints? Firmware up-to-date? Status of Development Units?

Maybe you can post a scan?

I had the machine brought into the shop. The color belt is almost blank. Since I noticed that the toner motor were not spinning, I put some toner in the dev units by hand and now I have a good image, but now has faded. I see that the toner motors plug directly into the eng. board.

I know that it's very unlikely that all your toner cartridges are seized ... but check anyway. The machine in our customer service dept had a seized cyan toner cartridge. It was a brick. Usually you can just bang on it a little and it will break up. After several efforts I took the cartridge out in the parking lot and beat it on the ground until it freed up. I've never seen one that bad before. Any C7101/7102/7103/7104 codes? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The cartridges are fine, that is where I got the toner to put in the dev units.

I have had the wiper for the toner sensor fall off into the DV unit ant that caused low toner condition on 1 and over tone on another. But for all 4 units to go bad? I have also had a belt get build-up on it so it printed lite, I had to take rubber roller cleaner to the belt to get it clean, but that dosn't sound like your problem eather. does sound like toner add motor or the board that drives them

toner motor turns one direction for black, reverses for color jobs, have had broken gear in the assembly cause light copy or banding issues, can try to run sky shots to see if you can force toner into the developers, will take a lot but sometimes help, check U412 for density calibration, U155 will display current toner levels in the devs...
