[Misc] CS 420i "On the glass" margin problem

Enclosed is what happens when you make a blank copy...The same will happen if you copy say a check, or a business card. There's that diagonal black line, like the scanner isn't straight. If you have a letter sized original on the glass, it copies perfectly. Any ideas as to what the issue could be? Anyone seen this before? I slid the scanner lamp back and forth several times and it seemed to move in unison, and with ease. 1.jpg

Ditto that. Check to see if some of your velcro pads are missing. Peel off the platen (velcro attachment), place the pointiest corner into the arrow corner on the index, then slowly lower the DP until the velcro sticks. Then press with your palm to make it stick better. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
