    [Misc] KM 3050 slow scanning.

Hello there, I've got a km3050 that hangs up when scanning to a folder. Paper is on the DP, select folder, start , after about 5,6 seconds it finally starts the job. Flashed firmware, replaced HDD, removed memory and cleaned with eraser as per the hotline, after that no more help from Kyocera Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Those 5,6 seconds doesn't look like an eternity to me, it's not so uncommon on older devices depending on the network environment. Do you have that delay on every client pc you've tried to scan to? I would try it on all the other clients 1st just to make sure. Does the printing have that delay, or just smb scanning? How is scan to e-mail working?

You did some troubleshooting machine side, and it looks ok to me. I would now start playing with network segment, like changing the IP address, and checking if the client pc has some firewall/antivirus suite that is perhaps doing some extra checking before letting the machine logs on to the client pc and storing the scan there. You could bring a laptop and connect it directly to the machine, setup smb and test it like that.

    Good luck.

That was my thought too. Those 5.6 seconds are being used to complete the connection with the folder. That's network connection speed, not processor speed, not memory allocation, or anything else you have control over.

My advice is to crossover to your laptop, scan to an SMB folder to prove it works, then walk.
We eventually got the networking clause put into the service contract. If it can print, scan-to-SMB, scan-to-email to my laptop ... then it works to our satisfaction. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
