kyocera km3060

hi guys
Hi guys i have got my kyocera km 3060 machine which is not warming up.if i switch it on it switches off the display by its self but keeps on running, showing that its warming up.after warming up it remains blank on the screen,does any one ever come across this problem?please help i am stranded.

It almost sounds like the machine is going into sleep/power save mode.

have you tried to update the firmware ?
Is it possible to print from a pc ?

Your engine board is doing its start up procedures and the main board might be starting up as well. When you turn it on how long before the LCD goes blank and does the memory LED flash? how long do you leave it turned on, sometimes this machine will display a CFB31 after a while. It is possible that the main board and Operation panel board are not communicating. There is a recovery procedure for this machine involving a dip switch on the operation panel main board. If you do this procedure it must be followed precisely or you could do more harm than good.

It might require a new HDD...
Search around for 30 40 Gb model and lock the HDD jumper configuration back to 20Gb max.
It should work ok from then on in the KM3060.

kkendrick and Neo are both correct ... plus you might have a bad operation panel, op panel firmware DIMM, or corrupt firmware.

Try firmware first. Then op panel DIMM. Then op panel. =^..^=

Came from Kyocera with an 80 Gb, Why would you limit a new drive to 20Gb?

For Testing ....
If he can't scratch around in his shop for a small 30 ,40 GB HDD for testing.
Then buy a new 150 Gb HDD an lock the HDD config down to 20GB. It's a waste of drive use but it will test the machine.
I'm informed the smallest IDE HDD you can buy is now limited to about 150GB. The KM3060 wont recognise a larger drive. I think it maybe firmware limited.

Going back a few years now since I worked on this model.
I believe the DIMM at the front panel is not the same as the DIMM in the back. They will both fit in either position but the machine won't work. Be sure to get them in the correct location.
