    fs-4000

    Hi Everyone,
I have a client with at least 10-12 of Kyocera FS-4000. It's a very dirty environment and I have 3 printers who has the same problem. The copies are very very pale or no print at all. Did someone have an idea of the problem ?
Thanks a lot for your help !

    Clean the laser optics. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      What blackcat said.

In case it doesn't help, you have 2 possible causes:

      1. Developer drive gear is deformed or broken. Its the gear that goes thru developer clutch below. The shape of it has been changed so it won't break anymore. The part name and number is: GEAR DLP Z31H (302F931191).
      2. Contact failure between developer unit and developer bias terminal on the left. It also has been changed with added spacer for better contact. The part name and number is: Contact bias (302F902270).

      Good luck.

the charge roller that clips on top of the drum unit gets very dirty and make light prints when real dirty. taking the charge roller off and cleaning with windex and a soft cloth works very well.

Make sure the charge roller is completely dry before putting it back in. I use alcohol prep pads.
