[Error Code] Taskalfa 3551ci keeps dropping offline

    Hi all

Iv got a customer who has a Taskalfa 3551ci which keeps dropping off line.

We have recently upgraded the machine from Taskalfa 3550ci and since they have had the new machine it keeps randomly dropping offline and the customer has to turned the machine off and on, this then brings the machine back online.

We have upgraded to the latest firmware and checked IP address isn't conflicting. Also we have updated the driver to the latest.

Have you come across this before and if there anything you can suggest?

...what brand of switch or router is the machine connected to?

There is such a thing called "Link Flapping", wherein the port on the switch errors out:

What is the Link-flap error in Cisco Switches? - Network technologies and trends

try an intermediate switch (5 port) between the machine and the wall socket and see if that fixes it!

Thanks for this advise, they have a Full ICT support company onsite, so I will forward this onto them,

just a quick update too, I logged into the machine and changed the LAN interface, this is defaulted to Auto but I changed this to 100base-T full, to see if it helps!

When a machine goes "offline", it's using SNMP to tell the print driver there is an issue with the machine. Can you ping the machine or access the web page & are the link/activity lights on the nic ? If not, it's dropping the network connection. If the latter is the issue, I'd stick a small switch between it & jack to see if it loses the connection. If it's the first, check all operations of the trays, staple unit etc.
          Hope that helps !

its the KX print driver... its because there's a mix of KX Drivers ver 5 and 6 on the same workstation or server...
youve GOT to remove the old ver 5 drivers via Windows or the Undeleter tool in the KX ver6 folder...
