KM 6030 deck 1,2 tyres wear out 50k feeds

    Hello

We still have few machines in field and wanted to ask what is your separation springs setup like. In PM kits we used to get copper coloured sep spring and a PM bulletin to install on near side of the feed units with plus 1 adjustment for Tray 1,3,4 and +2 adjustment for Tray 2.

I've recently got hold of a bulletin which says to check the number on the top of the feed units and put springs in that position. Usually nr.6 on both sides??

    What is your experience like?

    Thanks

Put two copper springs on and set the pressure as stated on feed unit. Make sure you clean the one ways.

I clean one ways every time..

well the feed unit haws two writings one is on the separation bracket and one is on top of the feed unit (Upper housing warpage rank)..the numbers are different. What I have experienced let say on Tray 2 the Top rank shows 4 and the separation bracket 5. As per the PM bulletin It should be put on 7 (+2) for tray 2. As per the bulletin I got hold of yesterday with conversion tables it should be on 3.

      Confused

So you say use the settings written in the middle of the bracket between the copper (left) and silver (right) separation spring, right?

This is exactly the way I have always done it. With the copper colored springs in the front position, and the change in separation, per the bulletin, I have had very few problems with rollers not reaching yield. Are you using the updated rollers included in the PM kit? There was a color change a couple of years ago.

I confess there has been a lot of confusion about this bulletin, particularly the special setting for tray #2, which had considerable feed problems and uneven wear until the update. Also the mylars can become worn, usually by 1M or the 2nd kit, I change the mylars by the separation. =^..^=

            Thanks BlackCat.

You are then referring to the PM bulletin. That comes included in each PM kit right?

I do use the new tyres

These have 55k and I will try them in another machine with the PM bulletin.
I've put fresh set with fresh one-ways and shafts and mylar and try the "odd" bulletin I got hold of to see how far it will take me.

Just out of curiosity my old problem with J32's was actually the RH side door white pulleys shaft being occasionally stuck. So I am lubing the ends and mids on every machine I see and so far all good. Just wanted to share out

I've never gotten jamming from those vertical idlers, but plenty of screeching. =^..^=

The top vert roller has a oneway that needs cleaned or replaced
