So i went to this machine thinking the numeric keys won't work. But instead i found out that they don't work in the copy or send screen only. The memory light keeps blinking but if i hit the job\status key i can go into sim and the numeric keys work fine there. So i tried a 906 then a 989 and the machine just sat there and did nothing. So then i tried to run new firmware but the machine wouldn't see the usb even if i tried a different one that was reformatted. I am thinking a main board or possibly a hard drive. Any ideas?

It sounds as though the op panel firmware is corrupt. If it won't take firmware you may have to replace the op panel. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

BC.
Does this model have a micro sw on the keyboard PCB to accept firmware?
Try installing the firmware using one single file at a time on the USB stick.Inauguration to the "AI cancel-culture" fraternity 1997...

Re: 4050 numeric keys won't work
I think it's the Stratos series that has the boot switch. The Falcon III does not. Depending on whether it's the early op panel or the later op panel, the early panel has a separate firmware DIMM that can be re-seated, contacts cleaned, or possibly DIMM replaced. The late panel has a built-in firmware chip, requiring whole panel replacement (then firmware re-loaded, of course). If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: 4050 numeric keys won't work
So after replacing the panel with a used one and bringing along a main board and dimm. I found in system menu that someone had changed the copy limit from 999 to 1 which will lock up the panel and for whatever reason make the memory light blink continuously. Problem solved with just a minor oversight on my part.Comment
