    remove operating panel 300ci

Hi, How do I remove the control panel for the Kyocera Taskalfa 300ci and the reattach it? Any detailed instructions how to go about doing this with pictures? I can't seem to find the instructions in the service manual or on the net..

The problem I am having is the following:

I need to press the control panel underneath and exert some pressure for some of the buttons to function and for the copier to do what I want (copy, store files etc.). When I do not press underneath the panel the buttons (in this example) do respond (and make the beep noise) but do not action the function required. Moreover, the panel has to be in it's lowest position to work. I can log in regardless whether or not I exert pressure and position it's in by using the lcd display. It may be a sensor issue.

I can send prints from PC etc. with no problem.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

You can access the panel by removing a few screws from the bottom cover under the panel. The rest is pretty self explanatory. If the position of the panel affects it's operation it's not any sort of "sensor issue". Most likely there is a loose connector or a ribbon cable that is being pinched or pulled with the panel in it's upper position.

Note: Handle the ribbon cables carefully. It's easy to damage the ribbons. Make sure that the machine is off and unplugged while your re-fitting connectors.

Another possibility is that you some rough endusers that have broken out the posts that support the boards, by pounding the keys. For that you'll have to order an operation panel.

Or maybe there is some scurf in the edges of the keys holding down one key. If one key is being held down, none of the other keys will respond, until the first one is released. A simple cleaning of the plastic keys will solve this problem. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hi, Thank you it worked. I believe if may have been the underneath cover which was a bit loose. All the clips etc were attached fine. Works properly now when positioned at lower position. Seems to have same problems at higher position. I don't wish to open the device more just in case I damage it. Not experienced in electronics as such. Regards,
