    km 2550 ADF

Hey I'm still trying to keep this box running for one of my 25 year customers.
Loyal customers are a rare find nowadays.
Anyway shoot a page in ADF all is fine but feeder roller unit will not return to up position.
Open and close ADF feeder unit cover and resets it to up position and all is fine until next run.
Checked sensors and other real solutions to no avail.
    Am I missing the obvious????
    Thanks for knowledge.

I think this is like the DP-410 on the CS-2560. If I remember this correctly, look at the plastic holder for the pickup/feed rollers there is a spring clutch that raises the assembly when the motor is reversed. The plastic housing breaks out, so the clutch has to make a second rotation to raise the pickup roller. The clutch spring can get bent, or the clutch hubs worn, but that's less likely. I used to carry the parts for the CS-2560 in my carstock since it was so common.

Another thing to look at is the originals present sensor flag. If it's stuck, the DP will feed all the originals, not noticing that they're all gone it will show a paper jam. Opening and closing the cover will clear the "jam". =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Man, I think you are a walking trillion gig hard drive and indexed to boot!
I would bet my money on your first suggestion.
I don't plan on retiring for another five years so please hang around.
      Thanks..............

Correction: The DP-410 is on the CS-2550, and the DP-670 is on the CS-2560 ... but I stick with the basic concept. =^..^=

+1 for the plastic holder. Also I have had the spring break. I usually change the spring and the holder at the same time. The one time I didn't the spring broke 2 weeks later. For $1 its not worth it. IMHO.
