Customer has a 4550ci that was feeding fine until firmware updated with v8.1 today. firmware updated with no errors. Now, single sheets from any drawer will not feed beyond fuser without error... sheet will feed, pass thru fuser and thru to the exit of the bridge unit, however, as soon as the paper leaves the fuser, the machine beeps with jam 49xx. reloaded with v7 firmware didn't help, formatted HDD and ran u021 with no change, reloaded v8.1 again but still not working... any suggestions? Didn't think about it until after leaving customer site, was only using 11x81/2, haven't tried any other orientation... was even thinking about trying to cut paper slightly smaller, trying to prove for sure that the timing on the paper sensor exiting fuser is incorrect...

Did you look at the individual sensor in U031 to see if it's changing state? I know it seems like the firmware bit you in the ass, but it entirely possible that the sensor isn't working. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
