    Hi All
    I have a taskalfa 420i fitted with a DP760
machine works fine with feeder unplugged
but when i plug in the feeder and attempt double sided it throw error 0630
i have check and all cables are in good condition and connections cleaned and made good
    but still throws error
i have a spare DP750 is it possible just to remove the DP760 and PBA and fit the DP750
are there any settings i would need to change

Installation manual doesn't saying anything about the need of some specific settings when installing different DP's.

Could be a bad CIS interface ( small board on the controller in back of machine.). take it off and re-seat it and reconnect harness. I have seen that when the cable is not seated properly (i see you have checked that, just a reference) and when the if cable cover is damaged. If that does not work, cheat the top switch of the ADF and stick a piece of white paper in front of the CIS and see if it tries to white balance on power on. If it does, then the CIS may be bad.
If you want to put the 750 on, just remove the small cis interface on the rear of the machine (on the controller) and just put on the 750. it wil work.

      Hope that helps.

there is a bulletin about bad connection of 2nd wire (in the right of the machine) just check the connection. also check the cis in the DP that read the second face.

It's a fairly common failure on the DP-760 to have the CIS cooling fan fail. The resulting heat buildup in the DP causes the CIS to fail soon after. As you probably already know its a very expensive part to replace.

kjg is correct about the DP being compatible. The only qualification I might add, is that it's a good idea to update the firmware immediately after installing any new board (includes the on-board DP controller). Incompatible levels of firmware can cause very strange machine behaviour, even totally not recognizing the accessory. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Usually 0630 code is memory related or hdd! When cis or fan or board goes bad you get a 3210 code! Dp 760 needs additional memory for 2 sided scanning! I would reseat and do a all clear memory then format hdd! Then do a firmware install!

I have to disagree on this. C0630 code specifically states it's the CIS. You're thinking of C0640. In this case, the above people are correct. Check the black cable going from the rear of the DP to the right side of the machine, make sure the shielding isn't broken and it is plugged in securely. Also, pull the back off of the machine and check that the CIS board is properly seated onto the MFP board. U906 to reset the code and attempt to start the machine if all is correct.
