    Magenta background 3550ci

Tech tried to order a new drum overnight. Sent to me for approval. He said he is getting all magenta pages anytime they try to run multiple copies. Not all the pages are like this. May get 10 just fine and then print 3 pink. Cancelled the drum and told him to switch magenta and cyan drum. Of course the problem did not follow the drum. He wants to replace the developer unit now (which also is not in stock) but my gut says HV pwb. He did check the hv contact and cleaned the contacts.

Has anyone seen this? I would like to not have to overnight a part just to have to turn around and place another order because it was the wrong part. Troubleshooting guide and Astea no help on this one. (Astea ever helpful?)

    thanks

The solution is to replace the charge roller or the dev unit. Depends what the prints look like

Had the same problem, magenta background starts after a few copies. Tried drum, developer etc. Our Kyocera rep happened to be coming in the area. We removed all drums, DV's, transfer belt & cleaned the inside of the machine. Problem never returned. It wasn't real old & was in a real estate office, so the environment was clean.
      Hope that helps !
