[Dead] Kyocera TA-250ci stuck in "welcome" screen

    Hi everybody,

I have a TA-250ci, stuck in the "welcome" screen and it seems that the only way to fix this problem is to re install the Firmware

I have Googled for the files and checked past threads here to no avail!

The only download site I found that claims to have this file, downloads Trojans!

If anybody has the right files could you please send them to copier4you@gmail.com ????

Thank you very much for your help.

    Frank

I never found the firmware to be the fix. It was always a memory, dim, or hd

I'm not authorized and can't do it!

        Wish I could.

Can you? If so, can you download and forward to me?

        I would really appreciate it!

        Thanks again

The F/W is out there and Kyocera Tech Support has been sending it to techs around the country. It's a very common "field" request. I'm just surprised that nobody here has it or is willing to share. I mean, if I can do something for my fellow techs, it will be my pleasure to do so!

          Thanks again,

I don't think firmware will help you in this case. As Tonerkiller said, you should start with hdd and memory 1st.

I think you are righ about the DIMMS and HD.

Are the memory and HD proprietary or can I get them on my own?

                Thanks again

Re: Kyocera TA-250ci stuck in "welcome" screen

                    THE SOLUTION

I tried to upgrade the FW but (as Walter mentioned) when I turned the machine on, with the USB Flash plugged in, NOTHING was happening and no motors were turning. At that point I knew I had a different problem.

I disconnected the RADF and the Interface board that connects the feeder to the copier's pain PCB. I turned the machine back on and it came back to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked the harness connector to the pain PCB and I found it broken on one end. Naturally, someone must have pushed the cable from the RADF to the interface board in too hard, the interface board was pushed back, cracked on one end and was not sitting right on the main PCB.

I realigned the connector, reconnected everything, run 1087-1087 -906 and everything is back to normal!!!

Thank everybody for your help. This is a great forum
