Customer has a 250ci that randomly black screens and causes the keys not to function. Power button LED stays lit, but does nothing. They can unplug and plug the machine back in to reset issue. Haven't tried anything yet, heading up there later this week, curious if anyone has had this issue before and what would cause it.

Re: 250ci screen goes blank?
Either the HDD or Code DIMM, equal likelihood, followed by firmware. You may also have a bad main PWB or op panel, but let's hope not. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: 250ci screen goes blank?
Thanks folks. I've got a dead 250ci that I robbed the main PWB and operation panel from. The issue was so random and infrequent that I wasn't able to recreate it, but I noticed the panel was loose. Screws weren't tight on it at all, so I pulled it off and reseated all the connectors and tightened it back up. Reseated the RAM and upgraded the firmware also, just for preventative maintenance purposes. If it happens again, I'll swap out the PWB and OP itself.Comment
