    Cyan overflows down TA-5550ci

    Hey,
I got cyan overflows down (not color shift) with TASKalfa 5550ci. See attached. I interchanged laser scanner unit C and M , but the problem remains on the C. Fw is updated.
    Please help.

This machine looks like it could use some cleaning and vacuuming first. After that run color calibration followed by color registration and align it properly. Than run U089 -> color belt and check how it looks like.

Also upgrade the firmware to the latest 09.10.0010 version.

The machine is vacuumed and cleaned.color calibration is done but no change. Only cyan makes problem. Firmware is the latest.

Fair enough, though the picture you posted has the older fw version. Printing the U89 color belt will give you the best view on it. You could try with C developer if you have a spare one. I can't think of anything precise at the moment, will reply if something comes up.

Have you looked at the cyan drum drive? If the cyan drum is slowing or stalling you would get stretched cyan portion of the image. All the drum drive motors are identical, so you could swap a couple of the drum drive motors for diagnostic purposes. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks i would check, but the paper is in A4 format not in A4R, that why i didn't think about Drum slowing.

Well, that makes a lot of sense.

Is it copies, or prints, or scans, or some combination?
The laser/main PWB would be logical if it affected prints and copies.
The scanner/CCD/scanner control board would make sense for scans and copies.

If you look closer at the toner levels on the sample you submitted you will see that the yellow and magenta are also out of alignment.

i also have the same issue on same device. i have replaced the transfer assy but still same issue. when you do manual colour registration about 10 times it gets nearly perfect but after a day or 2 it seems to stray again. Also on my machine it is fine at top of page and at the bottom it only seems to show the fault half way down the page which is very strange if you ask me. this is also an A4 page and not A4r so the registration is out on the cross feed direction.

i would not have thought that the firmware would fix this problem

any help would be greatly appreciated
