Scan to e-mail from computer FS-C8520MFP

I have a client that wants to be able to place a print on the copier and scan to E-mail from her computer. They have a brother-MFP that does this now Using the USB hook-up. This is an area that I haven't had any experance with. All my people so far ether scan to pc and then attach it to an e-mail or just Scan to E-mail from the copier. Help! the Bookkeeper there wants the copier replaced and this is a new placement.
    Thank You

On a Kyocera you won't be scanning to email via USB, but TCP/IP yes, for sure. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

So is there no program that Pulls a scan from the copier while sitting at the computer and then e-mailing it from the computer? This Lady is very attached to the way she e-mails out now, and I don't know if she is willing to learn another way even if it was better. Other 2 in the office seem felxable.

Maybe ... but I've never heard of it. Regardless of what scanning solution you come up with, it won't be identical to what she was doing, so she'll have to learn something new. Is there any particular reason that you cannot hook up a network cable?

Sounds like she was using a twain scan to software on her computer (like Paperport) that would allow her to send the document as an attachment.

Time to learn a new ( maybe better ) process.

I do have it hooked up to the network and I have it scanning to pc. I was going to hook-up scan to e-mail but they were too busy yesterday afternoon. The bookkeeper just dosen't want to take the time to learn something new and works only 3 days a week. That said, the owner may be more reasonable but I want to get as much info as I can before I go back to the owners.
Paper port is an option? I haven't delt with that before as up to now I had no reason. Is it stright forward to use?
            Thanks for the info.

Without knowing what she is using now it's hard to know what might be similar to her.

With a CF card and Pin Point scan you could scan directly into Outlook or Thunderbird if she uses one of these email clients.

She was using a Brother color MFP with USB scaning Like Samsung "smart through" I haven't seen the brother run yet. So far I have only hooked up "Scan to PC" I will talk with the owner today and find out where I am on the whole thing. Any body using "paper port" ? We have some disk but have never used this software,..never needed it before.
                Thanks Again

Paperport has it's uses, but I never really cared for it. Some of our new customers were already using it because it came with the machine they had before.

If the customer wanted to keep using Paperport, I would set the copier to scan into the Paperport working folder.

If you have the disk go ahead and install on your system and play around with it.
For your customer you could scan to the working folder and then drop the file onto the Outlook icon to attach for email.
                  Piinpoint does this but better.

Hi Darry1322, "Piinpoint does this but better".

Is pinpoint a K-Mita product? I haven't seen it before. Like I said earlier, this is all new to us. Time to grow and learn a new way of doing things, I have to hit the field for the rest of the day ,..but my Boss is working on this for me. He is more of a computer guy than I am. (Give me hardware or airplanes and I am happy.)
Thanks for continued input on this

My boss had a chance to look into this a lot more Friday afternoon and he thinks there is nothing as simple as " Scan to E-Mail " then forward. He is hoping that we can show her how much easier that would be than anything else. Pinpoint requires more steps and a pass word,.. + $$$ to buy the thing. WSD scan is limited to 1 page at a time. Anyways, we try to sale the idea that "Scan to E-Mail" that most everybody uses will work for her. Scan to PC is too many steps for her too. Life is tuff when A Tech has work this hard to replace a Brother POS with a Color 11 X 17 K-Mita. Wish us luck!
                          Thanks
