    KM2550 Not adding toner

Hi all, Have this machine that won't add toner, has 24V at the pin, but not across motor leads. Just did a Maintenance kit about 3 months ago then this started. No motor movement in sim 130 or 133. Will diplay add toner or toner empty when DV unit gets low. I manually add toner to DV unit to keep them going for a while. Machine has about 180k on it. New motor did not help, I'm thinking engine board but would like input before ordering one.

If your new motor is not getting the voltage it must be an engine board. My first instinct was to check the toner cartridge drive coupler. Often Copystar/Kyocera toner cartridges look similar, but the actual coupler is different. If you're not getting voltage that's another matter. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sorry I didn't mention that in the first post, cartridge and coupler are the same, I am leaning to engine board, the only problem I see is that I get 24V at connector without the motor connected, but don't get voltage across motor leads with motor connected. It's been a long time since I troubleshot boards, but know the voltage may be present, but under a load there isn't.

I think the way I would approach this is to disconnect the motor from the wire harness and read resistance across the motor, then resistance each lead to frame ground. As a guess I would expect something like 64 ohms across the motor and open to frame ground.

Then I would connect the harness and measure again.

Since the MFP is ground switching, with the motor off you will see 24vdc from either leg to frame ground. When the engine board turns on the motor, you'll see one leg go to ground, so the voltage across the motor leads will increase to 24vdc. I'd use sim U130 to turn it on.

You should be able to run the toner motor in U030 also.

Does any of that help? =^..^=

A transistor fries on the engine board.

We used to see problems like that on the Old 3 digit machines and it was almost the power-supply. Most recent one was a 4 digit 6330 power supply.
