    MFX 2350 wont maintain settings.

Hey guys, I have a MFX2350 that wont maintain settings that have been input. I first noticed that when you set the finisher to exit onto the top tray and then turned the machine off for an hour or more it reverted back to raising and putting the copy on the bottom tray which is the default I believe. I also notice that on a 2 sided to 2 sided duplex copy that the one side was blank and the other grayed out. I ran the back ground program and it took care of that till you shut the unit down for a while, then it loses the settings. Any idea on this from you Muratec guru's, memory battery maybe and if so is it replaceable? Any help is always appreciated!

    Mitch

Swapped the battery from a 2850 to the 2350 and still the same problem, do they use another battery to maintain the power off memory?

Did you put a new board in recently? Some of these boards have a switch to thro so the board gets the juice from battery.

Not that were aware of, I'm sure the machine has been sitting unplugged for quite a while though. A switch for battery back up huh, have you seen this switch and is it a hard switch or a soft switch setting?

Thanks mo051 it wasnt a switch but it got me looking and it turns out that theres a jumper to the left of the battery and it wasnt jumped like the on on our 2850 was and that took care of the problem......... So I guess the question is why the hell would someone undo that jumper?

THAT'S IT!!!! Darn, sorry. When you replace a main board that has to be changed. Of course no instructions on that when we did it. Good Job! If it was not a new placement or a new board, or maybe that is why it has been sitting for awhile!
