What image problems are you having? When I change the drum, wire or developer roller I don't change the settings unless there is a problem.

thanks for the quick reply...I'm not the tech doing the work but, instead, trying to help gather good sources of reliable advice on this machine...I believe the symptoms are lines and spot on the prints as well as a general gray background and darker edges... this persisted even after changing the cleaning roller...so, if I understand correctly, you can replace the drum and developer and then turn the machine back on and it should be good to go?..(unless fate intervenes)...

The machine isn't going to care. You might want to reset the counters if it's on a service contract. For myself all the kips I work on are in house so I have a fix it as it breaks mentality. Many kip techs, including the ones at HQ share the same mentality. Clean the drum, replace the wires if they are dull looking and look at the Dev. roller. If you still have problems, go from there.

The developer unit is supposed to be rebuilt every 200K square feet but can go further by cleaning the developer roller. The charge wire and grid should be cleaned at every service call and replaced at 200K I think. I think the drum will go 350K. Resetting Bias count 3 to 0 will help with background problems.

Good advice here. Keep in mind that it's monocomponent developing. Do the prints look anything like this?:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
