I've got an old C235. I can make copies but they're just about black. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Does a part need to be replaced? Needs a good cleaning?? Thanks!

The transfer/separator contact springs are real flaky on this series. Typically it makes black or blank 'bands' of varying widths, but when contacts are very bad the whole page can be blank (transfer arc) or black (separation arc). Also check the ground contact to the guide plate itself. KISS - First try lowering the transfer assy with the center handle, then raise it again 'with deliberation' to see if the copies are any different than before. Good Luck!
