2554MF is quite old... If you apply even the lowest pressure, every material will eventually bend a bit.
Unless you've got an Error coming from this, i'd not worry about it that much and if it does produce an error i'd switch out the MFP. Its just too old by now

This is looking quite dangerous. I wouldn't recommend working on this machine without changing HVT board and/or trace cables.

I don't know if this would help ... maybe?

There was a machine (sorry, can't remember what brand/model) ...

Oh, wait, I remember now! It was the Toshiba Alabama LSU board. When you removed the laser the LSU board would contact the engine frame and short out the board. As these machines got older, it got more and more necessary to remove & clean the laser.

Anyway ... to prevent the PWB from shorting out to the frame, before I re-installed the LSU I would adhere a thick sheet of mylar (report cover) to prevent accidental electrical contact with the frame. If you look around in your copier graveyard, you'll probably find a machine in which the board is backed by a translucent plasticy insulating sheet. Use that ... use two-sided tape to stick it to the metal frame.

There have been other machines that if you pressed the underside of the scanner, it would short out the component pins on the scanner PWB. Same fix.

        Just a thought ... =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

oh shit oh dear lord forget my answer. Google Translate did a very very bad thing and translated the word "arching" in a completely different meaning... And i thought the blue light was maybe your flashlight...

Yeah, unplug the machine and thorw it away. If i look at this, it feels like the machine is burned down already. I would not risk the 100 of errors coming soon...
