    KIP 860 E-0722

I have an 860 that used to E-0722 codes, transfer belt skew right side. At first I would grab another tech and actually pull the belt out and clean the sensor but by second time that happened we looked at how to prevent this so we took a static brush from Konica Minolta RU and cut two little pieces and attached them to the right side skew sensor bracket with the brush side towards the belt. The brushes aren't actually touching the belt. While this hasn't completely fixed the issue, it has certainly reduced the frequency the error occurs. Now I open the front and clean the sensor off with canned air and a toothbrush.

Oh sorry for the delay! Didn't see your post. My belt was never moving, it always stayed in center, it was just the sensor getting dirty that always triggered the error code, Are your bearings fully seated properly?

Hi Tech09, have you got your error solved ? Because im having it now but it's E-0721 (Left side Belt skew). I opened up the fuser to check on the belt measurement which is 15mm from the end of the skew roller. measurement is actually on point based on the service manual. Next i suspect is the sensor is dirty, But where is the sensor located and how can i get to the sensor for cleaning ? because the service manual i have currently doesn't have a photo of it . photo section is blank.

Hope you can help me out . Cheers buddy !

You might be able to get to your sensor from the front. Remove the front cover, on the Density Sensor assembly (removal is section 5.8.1 ) remove the end screws on both sides, disconnect the connectors and pivot down and remove the Density Sensor assembly. With this removed you'll be able to see the transfer belt, look on the bottom left side, maybe 8-10 inches back from the front of the transfer belt and the sensor should be in that area. As long as your belt is centered just clean out that sensor, you should be able to just blow it out with canned air.
