    [Jamming] HP 3005n mispicking letterhead

first of all i hardly work on HP's.

i have a customer who is having jamming problem from tray 2 only.when i arrived, the roller was covered in paper dust. they are using 105g of letterhead and high quality paper too. it only jams at the pick up roller. pick up roller does not pick it up. after cleaning the roller it works perfect. problem came back in after a month with the same problem. so this time i replaced the pickup roller and the friction pad. month later it started mispcking again.you can hear the roller turning, once it thrown up a message you have to press the tick button on the printer and that most of the time comes through alright. paper is still in the tray when it throws up a jam.

the heaviest you can use in tray 2 is 120g. which was checked in the specification.

is there anything that i might have missed out? any ideas?

It sounds to me like you might have some kind of coated media. The coating rubs off onto the rollers a little at a time. When they get enough of this coating they start to slip. Cleaning or replacing the rollers is only a cure while their clean.

If the customer insists on using this particular stock, they may choose to clean these rollers themselves. Or they may choose to pay you to clean them. But somebody will have to clean those rollers more frequently. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i had a feeling that it was something to do with the paper. she said it never had done this before until now and theyve had the machine for a few years and since then theyve been using the same letterhead.
