    Imagistics CM-2020 problems

1st had error code C3C50, after getting the machine to normal temp i think we got rid of the code, but still can't run the machine as it won't accept an access code to run copies.(is the error code still there and I just can't see it ) I can run gradation and all sorts of test prints in SP mode, have reset mach with off on sw and wall plug, all number keys have tone sounds except access key. Is there any way to disable access code requirement?

Firstly, crossover or access the machine's internal web interface, and use it to back up all the data on the machine, specifically the access codes and address book info. You can back up the network info as well just in case.
Your next step would be to disable the access codes from the Administrator options, either through the interface or through the copier panel. This WILL delete all of the access codes and tracking information, so you might want to print out the counters if the customer is tracking their output.
An even simpler solution may be to just edit or create a new access code to allow access, but if there is a problem with the codes to begin with this will not help - but it will identify if the codes are the problem to begin with.

C3C50 is a counterfeiting code. It occurs if/when someone tries to copy money, and will generally lock the machine permanently.
However, it has been reported, in error, as occurring in low temperature environments, due to a faulty capacitor on PWB-C. If my previous post doesn't help at all, I would definitely replace this board. New PWB-C boards have been modified to compensate for this problem.
I also have a bulletin pertaining to another possibility. "This may occur after replacement of the MFP or MC board, or for no apparent reason. The correct date and time must be input into the copier, and may have become reset due to board replacement or electrical noise, storms, etc..."
From the tech rep mode, hit Stop 1144 Clear to access the date/time mode to check and adjust the setting. This may be your best bet here.

If it is a counterfeiting code would I be able to run the machine in test mode? (test prints which I have done) or does the machine shut down completely, also if this is the case can this counterfeit code be reset, if not, theres no need to order a temp compensation bd....correct?

I will try putting in the correct date and time and disabling the access codes, thanks.

I cannot say for sure, as I have never encountered a counterfeiting code myself. However most of the documentation I have encountered on the specific code relates to the other issues previously mentioned, and not an actual counterfeiting issue. As for a fix if it is counterfeiting related, it is my understanding that the code is not specifically documented in any manual is to force either the users or the technician to contact their respective support groups for information or fixes, which would then in turn be required to notify the authorities of the counterfeiting attempt. Whether this is true or not is yet to be seen. Odds are however, it will be related to the previous issues mentioned.
