We have a Magicolor 3300 which has a very intermittent fuser stall problem. First thing of a morning the fuser motor will stall once or twice (causing jams) then run fine for the rest of the day as long as it doesn't sit too long. The problem has been there through multiple fuser units, and lubrication of fuser drive gears. The fuser drive train seems to be as free as a good one.
I don't have the interface board to do a firmware update. The customer is happy to spend money on it to get results, but I'm not sure if we should pursue it or not considering it is an old printer and expensive to run.
Thanks for any input
Phil
