    OKIDATA c550/980 Error code,?OKI TECHS CAN ^YOU PLEASE HELP

    HI,
    Should a jam (first one in fuser) set off code on new fuser unit.SURELY there must be some way to reset 980 code other than replace fuser,This unit has less than 50 copies on it.are there any adjustments that Ineed to do on machine ?PLEASE HELP.

                  Possible causes for defective fusers on this model :

                  - Bad or broken thermistors (Fatal Error 170-177
                  - Fatal error 928, Fusing unit does not rotate properly.

                      Thanks SORRY I KEEP DOING THIS IT IS A C5500,CAN I chane themistor on new unit I have in machine?
                      Unit has 50 coipes.I just put in machine new.

                          You can't order separate parts for the Fusing Unit. You'll have to replace the whole unit.

                          Here in Holland we can claim a defective supply. If I have a defective Fusing Unit that has done, for example 2k, I can claim the defective unit.

                              Put the machine in Fuse Keep mode then you can test with a brand new fuser without blowing the fuse in it.

                                  Thanks for tip.Fuser didnt blow until 2 days later,However Ill try your suggestion. Im not that familiar withy machine. Can you tell me how to put in safe mode?or do I need to porder manual from Paul to do this,
