I have an Oce 9400 scanner/copier. This unit did not come with scanning to disk or computer file capabilities. However, I understand there is hardware/software available to do this. This unit works great and its paid for. Could someone please explain what I will need to operate scanning only;are parts still available; am I wasting my time going this route and so on. Need all the help I can get. Thanks.....

Re: need scanning
So lets start with the basics.
What kind of scanning do you want to do?
If you've got a TCP/IP network connection you can scan to SMB, scan to FTP, scan to Email, or TWAIN. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: need scanning
Thanks for your reply. I would like to use the scanner part of my Oce 9400 to scan 24x36 hand drawings to a file in my PC to : be able to e-mail scanned drawings in PDF form to other people/businesses: be able to archive drawings to CD/DVD: be able to store multiple drawings under a file name to an external hard drive. It is my understanding Oce offered software/hardware for this, but I don't know for sure. I have started my "quest" for answers here hoping someone may have already done this. Thanks.......Comment

Re: need scanning
Hi,
Oce machines are protected with password encryption which is tied to the MAC address of the controller (PC) in your unit. This password can only be obtained from Oce ILMS administration system at a cost.
It is not possible to crack these codes, you will have to contact Oce, sorry, don't know what the cost would be.
