[Misc] Wierd issue with RISO HC 5500 - Need Help

    Greetings All.

I just bought a used Riso HC 5500. Mainly for printing envelopes.

Machine seems to be in GREAT shape.

However, I am getting a "random" issue that is occurring when printing envelopes.

The printed envelopes will pick up random "stains" of ink. All color, and in different places each time.

If I just run "flat" 8.5 x 11 paper through the machine, it seems fine.

It seems that the "thickness" of the paper or the envelopes is what is causing the problem to appear.

See attached photos for samples of the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help or tips on solving this.

this is a typical issue with riso machines.
try running them with the flaps tucked inside and see if that works.

      Thanks for the tip!

      I'll give that a shot

What is the reason that this causes Riso machines a problem?

your going to have to contact your local Riso technician, as there are adjustments that may have to be done.
you say this is a used machine, why was it removed from the previous owner's place.
something may be worn and need replacing.

Hi Steve and thanks for the reply

What does "the m/c" refer to?

I am new to this machine so any more specific info would be greatly appreciated.

                Thank you kindly,

                Rob.

sorry m/c is short for machine
if you selct menu on the machine screen you should be able to scroll down to configuration section their it should say standard tray (paper type)
change it to envelope or card stock and see if that helps ...you will need to select envelopes on the print driver aswell
                  hope this helps

menu then scroll to 4 press ok.then go to 1 press ok then go to 1 ..this should get u to the place you want
