    Fabracation in our nation

Now that I've got your attention here's my delema.
Panasonic DP2330 web pressure roller with a flat side, so not cleaning teflon roller properly and will eventually ruin the damm thing.
So I'm looking for some ideas on a temp fix until the new one comes in.
I was thinking of wraping some teflon tape around it but then again thinking the roller would slip and not turn. The pressure roller is a sponge surface.
All suggestions taken. And thanks to all you fabracators out there.

Just to help complete the image, what physical measurements do you desire for this web pressure roller?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Oh blackcat you little devil you. Looks to be about 9 inchs in lenght and about 1/4 inch round. humm
Looks like web selonoid had stopped working along the way, web bunched up and bingo the classic flat surface of a sponge roller and the classic scratched and ruined surface of a heat roller occurs. Now being the ace tech (which I am still not after 30 years ojt) I installed a 240k maintenance kit only to find this bad boy sponge roller screwing up my relatively simple service call.
Now normally when a backup such as this happens, a good douse of exlax is the cure.
OK, now get out to that tool shed and conjure up something. lol

Hey I think I have a temporary solution. Shrink Tubing! Comes in a variety of sizes, sleeved over sponge roller but not actually heating to shrink, should allow wed to travel freely and I don't think temperture is high enough in that area to shrink it. What say you?

Yeah, It'll shrink at fixing temperatures.

Instead how about copper or aluminum tubing? =^..^=

Going to take a little jaunt to hardware and check out that application.

Blackcat you have the wheels spinning now.
You know I have the spent web with core but I think it (metal core) may be a bit short.
Maybe a insert of some sort to make it a tad bit longer as metal core is hollow.

Well I got an early start and ripped into that fuser unit.
Wrapped sponge web pressure roller with Teflon tape, put a little more tension on solenoid spring, put the sucked back together, ran 101 test prints, 50% docs. 50%
PR test sheet. And all looks good in the land of OZ. (fingers crossed).

Hey Blackcat I'm still having that issue with TA520i.
Feeding and inputting a quantity of originals via DP will stop at quantity 2-etc and ask to load paper in MP Tray.
A stack will feed fine, only issue when quantity is inputted.
To work around this the customer will access mixed originals and then all is cool.
If there is a way to keep mixed originals function on all would be fine.

As far as I can tell Mixed Originals is always available as an option on any copy or scan job, but may not be set as a default. Sorry. =^..^=
