    RZ390IU misfeeds J08, J04

It works fine at speed #1, and jams every 4 at speed #2. The interesting part here is that the image registration lags by the third page. I've marked the entry guide where the trail edge of the paper stops during the pickup cycle. By the third page, the trail edge starts to lag by 2 to 3mm. Rollers are new.

I'm blaming the pickup clutch. Cleaning the clutch got me up to 7 pages before it jams. Ricoh uses a lot of Ogura clutches, so I am familiar with prying off the brass rings to clean them.

How am I doing? Am I on the right track? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Um, for what it is worth, you'll find Riso techs here:

Still, for the misfeed problem you probably are on the right track (unless the feed rollers and sep pad are worn out). Although, as a long term solution, cleaning that clutch is more work than it is worth. I've even tried knurling the clutch faces with no long term success. If the clutch is failing, it needs to be replaced.

Thanks Iowatech. I was hoping you would answer.

I don't see many Riso's. I would have tried to clean the registration, but it was such a confounding conglomeration of timed gears and slotted timing adjustments that I didn't dare. The registration reflective sensor was easy enough to clean, but made no improvement. The rollers and sep pad are new, by another tech.

      Again thanks. =^..^=

        No problem.
While I am almost absolutely certain those timed gears have nothing to do with the registration problems, if you want to check for yourself there is a hole in the gears that need to be timed that should line up with a hole in the metal frame in front of them. Well, at least they should line up when you can pull the drum out of the machine. Something you could use a 2.5 mm allen wrench as an alignment jig.
