I don't see many Kips so this one was really interesting. For starters, it's in a room only slightly larger than the machine, so I can only move the machine about 1 foot, then wedge myself into the newly made opening.
Our installer noticed that the EEPROM version displayed as: (ASCII 376) and the scanner and printer show Offline. The PC boots up properly, and the webpage is accessible.
I started at the power supply: no 120vac. Great, now where does it come from? There are a bunch of white and black 120vac wires on the right side of the machine, so I started snipping ties to follow out the harness. Where does it lead? Directly to the rear door interlock. This is what it looked like: (It's supposed to be straight)

I was delighted to get my 120vac back, and the scanner booted up. To my surprise I immediately got a "Door Open" indication. It sure would have been really nice to get an indication for the Exit Door Right interlock! So I started opening doors to see if the screen would change. Scanner: screen changes, Front Door: screen changes, Exit Door: screen changes, ... hmmm.
OK, Exit Door Right Corner: screen changes, Exit Door Left Corner: Voila! screen doesn't change! Here's the Exit Door Interlock Left:

Who would have thought you'd get a dead printer because a door interlock isn't made? It reminds me of the Samsung SCX5935 that never shows any indication that the rear door interlock isn't made, other than showing all the print jobs as "HELD".
That was today's excitement. =^..^=
