    Panasonic Toner

Just wondering if the toner between the 35XX , 45XX, and 60XX machines are interchangeable? They all use the same developer. I know that the hopper is different to allow for the different bottles, but could be easily modified. I have seen some off lease machines from wholesalers with the hopper modified and if there is no difference in the toner I would like to reduce the number of different toners for these machines. I am also wondering about a generic toner that will not cause over toning, copy quality issues, etc. Thanks for any input.

The toner is the same as far as I know, when the dev is the same then the toner is,as far as generic goes----------------don't, I never have any luck with that stuff its always a pain.

Panasonic did change the toner recently with the 35, 45 machines. They now use a different compound. If the toner bottle has BLACK printing on the label its an old bottle and can't be used if you switched to the BLUE printing bottle. If you decide to go to the old bottles and you already used a new bottle of toner in there (Blue label) you need to do a dev change. I personally haven't switched from black to blue. But I'm in the process of phasing out all the old toners so I don't have to worry about customers putting in the old toner after the new compound is put in. From what the Panasonic bulletins said switching from the new back to the old will give your machine many problems that just aren't worth it. As far as the compounds go between the 35,45 and 60 machines go I don't know if they're the same. I do know with the new 80 serries machines the toners / dev's are the same but that might not be the case with the older ones.
