    [CQ] DP C265

    hello people

this machine prints fine in mono, but when printing in color there is multi-colored background all over the page as per the attached image (print folded in half during scan to meet file size requirements) - according to the client it is intermittent. machine has done 106k (32k color)

did a stop test and yes there is background all over ALL drums (including K) and yet K is fine when printing in mono - i removed the DC controller & the 3 HVT boards - the two horizontal HVT boards had K toner all over them which i vacuumed then re-fitted with cardboard on top to prevent spillage getting onto the boards

    made no difference

anyone seen this before and have a solution?

    thanks in advance

    Hi

I assume this problem is the same either for print or copy.
If you print from F1 the test pattern for individual colors (30-33) do you have ? Do you check also the lifetime of color drums (F7-02- 25-28)?
Clean LSU glasses and print individual from each drum.

i cleaned the laser slit glasses and printed individually from each drum - same multicolor mess appears when i print from any one colour, but not when i print from black - yes copy is the same

as mention in the original post, the machine has only done 32k colour prints, i can't imagine their lifetimes are over after only 32k colour prints

i would think you have bad drums the color ones dont go that long. if you have a bk drum u can mod it to fit into the color ones. i have had the same problems befor

I had a similar problem, colour only. The customer was using 3rd party toner for colour and original Panasonic black toner.
            Check the colour toner cartridges.
