    E02-04 error code DP C322

Any help with a E2-03 & E-2-04 error code. The copier wasn't recognising the paper feed unit for a while. It now recognises it but we are getting these codes. Thanks for any help.

The paper lift motors for tray 3 & 4 are not working correctly, usually caused by broken gear in lift unit.

Did you make sure that the pins in the harness are connected all the way? I would also try reseeding the connectors just to be safe. And like the poster above stated to set the paper drawers.

You can also check for something as simple as paper jammed between the back of the paper cassette and lift assy. Although the gear tends to get twisted when ledger paper is present(and commonly in the bottom cassette).

If the gears are busted and/or twisted, it may be time to lock down the paper tray so that the paper size can no longer be changed.

A lot of people like to change the paper in the tray and either don't put the green paper guide in the right spot, or leave it out completely. This will cause the paper to slide back as it's being lifted and the lift assy will continue to lift and lift and lift some more until the gears and coupler in the back break and the lift plate in the paper tray bends like mad.

If this is the case, you will need to replace the following parts:

          1) DZLF000484 (COUPLER GEAR)
          2) FFPHQ0063 (COUPLER)
          3) FFPFJ00441 (STOPPER RING - in case this was lost when te coupler broke)

          4) DZKM000043 (LIFT PLATE - unless you can bend it back to it's original state.)

Luckily for you the machine is a color model. Black and white models take 10x as much time (for the 1st and 2nd trays) to get to that lift assy to replace the broken parts.

          Good Luck!

If both give that code, you have a bad system console board. The odds of BOTH motors going at the same time are pretty slim. I've seen this at least half a dozen times.
