    Panasonic DP8045

I have a Panasonic DP8045 with the side to side copy quality off. The drum and image unit has been replaced, developer restarted, optics cleaned. The coronas have no adjustments.
Was wondering if anyone has any ideas on adjusting the front edge darker. Thanks

Ya more info would be helpful. It almost sounds like if your getting light copies / prints on one side then you need a dev change.

        Thanks,
I ended up replacing the entire dev. unit and it fixed the side to side issue. On other Brands I could have adjusted the corona height but this model has no such adjustment. Thanks, Doug Schlo

All of the new generation panasonics are this way, have worked on lots of them. Do not restart the developer on any of the panasonics it creates havoc and more problems.........Duke

There's a metal plate that sits above the mag roller (ref. #1604, p/n PJUEC0235Z). It it held with 2 screws and is slightly adjustable. I found out the hard way to NEVER take this off when changing the developer. It has to be even front to rear and at the right height or your copy will come out uneven, too light or too dark.

            That's my 2 cents.

That plate holds the doctor blade for the mag roller. They are adjusted from the factory and its not recommended to touch them at all. For this problem a simple developer change or mag roller swap should have been all that was needed. Those dr blades can be a pain to adjust properly because if the height isn't set to factory spec it will throw off your tdc.

DO NOT use this paper trick on this machine. The doctor blade gap should never be messed with on any machine. If you are messing with the gap you are putting a band aid on the real problem somewhere else. The gap on this machine is 1.3mm. So 3 pieces of paper will only cause more problems.

                  Good luck Rob

no m8, A3 sheet of paper (its the Size)

and yes if u do by accident mess with the doc blade or replace the dev roller with wear and tear u may have to adjust the doc blade & from my experiance A3 or even A4 or Letter for the u.s. paper folded works for me
