have you put the belt on properly? one side of the belt has a reflective (chrome) tape for the machine to do the alignment.

When I've gotten that code, all I have ever had to do was wipe the three sensors under the IT belt, and the one sensor above the belt on the rear side of the frame.

And as mentioned, make sure the 2 reflective patches are on the rear side of the IT unit, and make sure they are being cleaned properly.

I think when I have had that problem, I remove the cover where the copies come out (above the toners) to the back of the machine, there is a little black plastic box, remove, wipe the sensor and re fit, hopefully that should help, the transfer belt comes unstuck slightly flicking toner up onto that sensor, I sometimes cut the little bit off if it isnt time to change the belt.

                Hope you get sorted.

Check the EC board. There should be 4 LEDs illuminated on the board. If any one of the four is missing, you have a bad board. Is the solenoid over the sensors working properly (F4-488) ?
