    [Error Code] E-02

I have an 8016 with E-02 codes from time to time. According to the log, it started at 39K at which time the lift motor was changed using PJZWF2120PB1. Another call at 60K. And now at 69K. I just saw this machine for the first time at 69K. The failure did not happen for me. I checked the gears in the lift motor. They all look fine. Sensor is in place. Lift plate in cassette is good. There is the usual popping noise. I did not see any bulletins on this. Any ideas?

check the lift motor house see if it has a crack somewhere... another thing I do is to put tape around the assembly, because sometimes the hook is loose. also, check and see if the motor is on the assembly probably. btw, what paper do they put in that tray? if they put 11X 17 paper in it, the assembly will overload, tell them to put less. I had customer put 11x17 in their tray and i was replacing the covers at least twice a month.

if that still doesn't fix it, as the customer to pay attention to when the code comes on. tell them to open and close the tray and see if they hear clicking noise. if they do. itz the assembly, most of the time is just the covers, gears inside are fine. the latest part number is:
    DZJA001570 LIFE UP CASE A
    DZJA001571 LIFE UP CASE B

I checked the gears for teeth missing, the motor for proper position. Also, the motor assembly has been replaced with the latest part # which would include the housing A and B you mentioned. They use 8.5 X11 in the cassette. Personally, I think it is a design flaw. I have seen this in other manufactures. When pressure is on the lift, the motor assembly just can't take it. Like when you fill the cassette with paper. Your right. They will just have to not fill the cassette to the max. Thank you for responding. If you think of anything else, let me know. Thanks again.
