    [Dead] DP-8035 Service Code forgot

    Hi,

How are you all? I have DP-8035 machine in my office. We have forgot the service password and only the function password is working properly which is default at 00000000. Please advice. Our repairman has told us that we will have to change the board. Is there anything I can do which could reset the password for service function. Please advice as we can not bear the cost of new board and also the machine is brand new.

Let me get this straight. Here you are on a technicians board, asking for free advice because you don't want to pay your technician who has already told you what you need. Is this correct? If the machine was brand new, wouldn't it be under warranty????
I wouldn't even tell you where to get the Service Manual / Handbook which will tell you everything you need to know.
And anybody that does give this clown advice would be doing a dishonor to his profession.

Pay no attention to him, he is the resident douche bag around these parts. Since when would you not tell someone where to get a manual Paul!? Asking for a second opinion is hardly begging for freebies.

As to your password issue. What the tech told you is true. Once the service password is changed, there is no way to reset it without getting into service mode. Unfortunately, you will need a new board.

      Apologizes to my dishonored profession.

Seeing as you are the only one ever to hit my rep, let alone 7 or 8 times for giving advice, you constantly attack people for no apparent reason, and in this case, hop all over a guy looking for a second opinion! Not free firmware or free manuals as many tend to do; simply a piece of advice. It doesn't cost you a thing or infringe on your precious "business" in any way, shape or form. And I am happy to give it as I believe that is what this forum is about. If anyone is the "putz", it would be you Paul.

your serviceman is not totally wrong. Panasonic stands on the ground that when the service password is lost you needed to change board. that is bunk! all boards and software have a back door . how do they set up the password in the first place . In your case , you needed to bypass the password protection and do a firmware update . firmware update will will replace the service password with 8 zeros. You can not use network firmware update since the password is required. emergencY firmware recovery will work if you create a firware update card first using an old panafax or a DP -150FX. plug the card in the flash slot and power up the machine. do not disturb the machine while the new firmware is looded. when it reboots , the service password will be 00000000.have a good day! CHEERS!

don't know how to create a master firmware card, here is another way easier if you have access to a dp8035 with a known service password.
insert a blank 8 meg flash card and power up the machine. press and hold the function button , press and hold the original leger size button, touch the number 3 key. enter the service password and press the enter button. go to f9 subfunction 09(create master firmware card). exercute subcode 9 to back up the firmware to the flash card. now you have a master firmware card with a known password. recover the other machine as outlined above. too bad not all problems are this easy!
