[Dead] Which board did I fry? (DP-C264)

I replaced the fuser unit and I didn't turn off the rear power switch and I'm pretty certain I fried one of the boards. Now the machine's display says to replace the IT and STR units and it won't do anything. I hate Mondays.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Try this. F8-29 is for resetting transfer belt. F8-32 is for resetting STR. F8-41 is for resetting the IT unit exchange count ( this will perform F8-29 as well).

Keep this in mind: (this kicked my butt one day when I replaced a fuser, but could not get the counter to reset) There are two exchange counts. F7-02>67 Fuser main exchange and F7-02>68 IT unit exchange count. When you reset fuser ir IT unit they increment by one. Sometimes you have to go in and change these to zero to get the F8 stuff to work.

I dont think you fried a board.

I had tried this first and it wouldn't work.

Thank you!!! I had to reset the F7-02>68 to get the code to clear.

I'm so glad I didn't screw anything up, those boards are expensive! I'd never seen that message pop up before, the machine was went from working to completely down, it was late in the day, and I was't sure what to do. I thought the machine wasn't recognizing that the units were installed. I was so upset with myself. First time in awhile I've run into a problem where I didn't know what to do. Thank goodness for this site!

          Thanks again!

Glad to hear you were able to resolve. When I could not reset the fuser, I felt the same way. Don't worry though. In todays technology, nobody can know everything. Thats why this site is so great.
