MP C4503 with intermittant SC672-12 code

I am in the process of looking for the svc manual and theory manual for this model. I see from a 2013 post
I may have to replace the hard drive or controller board.
The codes reset and it makes a decent print.
I have told the customer about this last spring, their power source.

They have this machine plugged into a tap strip along with a micro-wave sharing the outlet with a water cooler.
This is a school. I told them last school year this was a good way to get sour power problems. Like this.

I downloaded a tech bulletin and will give that a try. But they have the power cord behind a book shelf. Laid out
to its max length. So I guess I'll be having some real fun tomorrow.

Having the books would be nice too.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give you the service manual, but there is a site I use for quick reference when I don't want to walk all the way to my car to lookup a quick code:

    Error Codes

Its pretty easy to use, select the brand from one drop down box, select the model, and select the code.

It won't let me link directly to it so heres how you navigate to it, at he top click the yellow text that says free downloads, then select error codes. I'm sure most people on this forum have already come across this while google'ing sc codes.

Thanks Robert, I will keep this link handy for future use.
And I did google the code and got pages of choices. I like the idea
of having one link for quick use.

      Thanks

I have a MPc5503 doing this same thing now. Ricoh tech support suggested I order a new controller and dimm. Have you had good luck with the nvram on the BICU?

Check the condition of the controller board and operation panel.

Try updating power saving firmware first as advised by Semi, got to be worth trying
